6th Form have successfully completed NCS (National Citizenship Service).  This is a government run project for young people all over the country.  It comprised of four distinct phases.  Phase 1 was a residential at an outdoor adventure setting with students taking part in challenging activities such as attempting a climbing wall and archery. Phase 2 involved a series of workshops based locally or on site which included animal care, woodwork, catering, theatre skills, ceramics music and yoga. Phase 3, social action, meant students giving 30 hours of their time to the local community.  They worked for free on a range of projects including Day One, Echo and Children in Need.  The project finished with a graduation celebration held at the Grove Bowling Alley and the student received a certificate from the prime minister.  Feedback from NCS staff, school staff, the local community and parents has been very positive and the project adding a lot of new skills, enjoyment and confidence to the students lives.
