About Us
Our School
At Westfield School we believe in creating a family atmosphere in which every member of the school community is valued in their uniqueness.
Westfield School is smaller than most, but has grown over the years: there are currently over 74 learners on roll, between the ages of 2 and 19, grouped between seven classes. This number varies year on year, and numbers in each year group also vary greatly.
We are excited at the prospect of a new build, as part of the DfE Schools Rebuild Programme, which will enable us to meet all needs in a building more fit for purpose. Until this becomes a reality, we continue to provide personalised opportunities for all students, reaching into our local community for expansion and implementation of functional learning. Leominster really is our home and our curriculum, and we are very fortunate to be located where we are, providing local, accessible opportunities for life relevant learning.
We are proud to uphold the school values of ‘Respect, Resilience, Reflection and Empathy’ and these are exemplified by students and colleagues in all areas of their school days. An all-through school mirrors a ‘world in miniature’, as our younger students can see their journey’s next phase, modelled by our older students, into their young adulthood.
Our School Values
A Value is a principle that guides our thinking and our behaviour.
At Westfield school, every individual is valued for who they are and what they contribute to the school. Values are intended to support the personal, social and spiritual development of every pupil throughout the school. We have 4 core school values that will guide pupil’s choices, behaviour and learning.
The whole staff team, parents and pupils are involved in promoting values. The values developed have been selected after consultation with pupils, staff, governors and parents as values which are important within the school community and which will be important throughout life. Our values have fulfilled 4 key areas, and we explore the aspects that contribute to these core values
Respect
Tolerance, freedom, friendship, justice, equality, responsibility, democracy, justice and faith
Resilience
Perseverance, determination, optimism, independence, self-belief, positivity and courage
Empathy
Cooperation, patience, kindness, happiness, caring, honour, compassion, forgiveness and love
Reflection
Curiosity, honesty, engagement, self-regulation and patience
